Best Ever Shish Kabobs (It's All In The Marinade)
(From Our June 2016 Newsletter - Grandma C.)
Ingredients
- 1 pkg. Lawry’s Beef Marinade
- ½ c. soy sauce
- ½ c. Heinz 57 steak sauce
- ½ c brown sugar
- 1 TSP prepared yellow mustard
- ½ TSP garlic powder
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1½ lbs cubed beef or pork
Prepare the Lawry’s marinade according to package directions. Add all other ingredients and stir until well mixed.
Pour into a shallow baking dish. Add cubed meat (of your choice), stir, cover and marinate in the refrigerator overnight.
At BBQ time, skewer the beef or pork, alternating with your favorite vegetables, (such as onion, mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers and even pineapple chunks!) and grill 20 to 30 minutes on medium heat. Serve!
This mixture goes well with beef or pork or even venison or elk and it is such a simple recipe! There is very little prep involved.
*Variations include: Pineapple juice. If using fresh chunked pineapple on the skewers, you can add a few tablespoons of the juice to the marinade for a tropical flavor. The brown sugar and pineapple juice will complement each other.
