  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1tbsp ground cumin

  • 1 tbsp minced garlic

  • ¼ cup tamed jalapenos (from a jar)**

  • I medium onion, sliced into rings

Cut the pork into large equal portions.  Place in crock pot with the chili powder, cumin, garlic, onion jalapenos and lime juice.

Mix the ingredients together with the meat to coat.  Cover and cook on low for approix 8 hours.  Meat should be pull-apart tender.

Remove the meat and shred.  Spread it on a foil lined baking sheet with the onions and a liitle bit of juice from the crock pot.

Broil for 5 minutes to brown the meat.  Serve!

Traditional mexican style toppings such as cheese, black beans, pico de gallo and sour cream are great garnishes!

**Use untamed or fresh jalapenos if you prefer more heat!!

Carnitas can be served street taco style, as a burrito or on a salad with the toppings of your choice
