Colds, Allergies and Toothaches

I bet you‘re asking what these have in common! The answer? LOTS! That‘s right! It is quite normal for person suffering from a cold or allergies, to experience the universal symptom of congested sinuses. What‘s that have to do with my teeth or my toothache? When sinuses are congested giving way to that puffy face feeling, it places undue pressure on the upper teeth. This can cause uncomfortable sensations when chewing and even mild to severe throbbing. Usually the onset of the toothache arrives shortly after the cold/allergy symptoms do and subside when the latter does as well.

However, not all toothaches experienced when you‘ve got a cold or allergies are caused by sinus congestion. So it‘s important to pay attention to your toothache. If it lasts more than a few days and cannot be alleviated with over-the-counter medication, it‘s important to see your dentist to have him rule out other possible causes AND to see your physician to make sure you‘re not suffering from a sinus infection. Never ignore tooth discomfort of any kind; it‘s usually there for a reason!

Feng Shui with Shona Frasier!
Chi Energy

Last month we talked about how important getting rid of clutter is and is very basic Feng Shui. If you went around your home or office and decided to get rid of the clutter, did ridding clutter make you feel any better about being at home or work? I bet it did! If it did not help, then let‘s evaluate a few things. Do you still have clutter? Is everything broken or not really worth much to you out of the house? If not, that is the problem. If so, it might be how your furniture in the house/office is placed.

Air flow is one of the keys to energy movement in Feng Shui. Remember we want to enhance our luck and put to use the Chi energy around us. Chi can be defined as life energy. Having healthy flowing Chi in your home and office will definitely make you feel better. Stagnant Chi, according to Feng Shui, can cause our luck to change, cause financial situations, family problems, and health problems. So that leaves us to believe blocking Chi with our furniture can and will cause stagnant energy.

Basic Feng Shui our furniture placement can be very important. We want our furniture placed in ways where the air and energy can flow without being blocked or growing stagnant. Walk around your house or office and make sure every space has a way in and a way out for air to flow. For example in an office, the desk should be up against a wall or in the middle of the room with flow on both sides of the desk. Air can travel around it on each side or you should completely be facing the wall.

Placing your furniture correctly should allow air and energy to flow. This concept also works at home with couches, tables, beds and desks. Check to see if air can flow easily throughout your house. Remember you are not alone in this and you can contact me with questions or concerns on Feng Shui at anytime.

A question from a member:

Question:  What is the difference between a Network Preferred Provider and a Network Provider? Savon's Answer:

A Network Preferred Provider is a dentist/dental facility that is contracted to the Savon Dental Plan Fee Schedule and abides by the Savon Dental Plan policies. A Network Provider is a dentist/dental facility that offers the Savon Dental Plus Plan members a discount ranging from 20-50% off their usual and customary fees. These providers are located nationwide and are not bound by the Savon policies or fee schedules. All discounts offered by the Network Providers are done so by our partners under the Unicare 100 plan. If you have any questions or need assistance locating a provider under your plan, please give our Customer Service a call at (800)809-3494.
