What‘s the difference between and ONLAY and an INLAY?
I‘m sure some of you out there have heard the dentist mention a crown, but what if he feels you don‘t necessarily need a WHOLE crown?
Enter&helOnlay or inlays. An onlay is a laboratory created metal, ceramic or porcelain restoration that only covers the cavity portion of a tooth and overlays a cusp(s). An inlay is the same type of restoration; however it lies within the tooth, not covering any cusps.
Dentists will sometimes recommend these types of restorations to patients when the need for a crown isn‘t as prominent as the need for a less intrusive restoration. Inlays and Onlays do not require the laborious amount of preparation times and the cutting down of the tooth structures as a crown does, thus making these restorations less invasive.

Keeping Fit with Jourdin Hendershot:

Tooth Squeeze
Tooth Squeeze is a pain in a tooth caused by a change in atmospheric pressure. Tooth squeeze can result from a small air pocket under a filling or air leakage into a cracked or decaying tooth. When under pressure the air space within the tooth is “squeezed” causing pain. Pain will subside at ground level.
Who gets tooth squeeze? Aircraft pilots and scuba divers are the most common victims for tooth squeeze. For example: when a scuba diver goes under the water, every 33 feet of depth pressure increases. If a diver experiences tooth squeeze, the proper proceedure is to abort the dive and come up to the surface. Tooth squeeze can occur with anyone, flying or driving to a higher altitude.
To avoid tooth squeeze, you should see your dentist for regular dental care!

Insurance Insight - Indepth Look At Medical Insurance - Part 3
Contrary To Popular Belief...
“What good is insurance if it doesn‘t cover what I have?”
To a degree, see immediately above. The risk has already occurred.
Don‘t wait till something happens to get insurance. Insurance is never as cheap as it is when you first apply (unless you happen to change to a less-expensive carrier), but rates are based on age, gender, height and weight, tobacco-usage status and health history, including surgeries and medications. Statistics would say that these things either don‘t change or tend to worsen as you get older.
Insurance isn‘t meant to cover what you already have – it is meant to cover what you don‘t have yet. If you developed a new condition while on one carrier, don‘t expect the next to cover it; you didn‘t pose that risk when you went on Carrier A, so it is not Carrier B‘s obligation to cover it. Just like wrecking your car while you had Allstate and then expecting State Farm to keep working on the repairs when you change carriers two months later.
Yes, insurance for health insurance IS just like car and auto – it is about risk.
