Strawberry Snack Ideas
Take a pint of strawberries, rinse and dry them. Dip them in Greek-style vanilla yogurt, place them on waxed paper on a cookie sheet and freeze! This is a great low fat snack.
You can also do this with blueberries. (The large, fat, juicy ones are best.)
Another good way to make a strawberry snack is to dehydrate them in the oven.
Wash the strawberries and pat dry. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
If the strawberries are really large, you can cut them in half lengthwise before heating.
|
Heat at 210 degrees for 3 hours. Strawberries are a naturally sweet treat but some prefer to sprinkle them with sugar. They will come out chewy and very sweet and tasty!
Both of these recipe ideas were found on Pinterest! Thank you to those who shared them. (No copyright infringement intended!)

Stressed out? That Might Be A Good Thing!
Most people look at stress as one of the nuisances of daily life. Pulling your hair out, biting your nails, the burning in the pit of your stomach… It could be your job, finances, family, a relationship, all of these produce triggers which make the vast majority of us aspire for a “stress-free” life, as if such a thing existed. If, however, somehow we achieved a worry free life, new research shows that it might not necessarily be a good thing.
You know how they say “people work better under pressure?” This new research more than validates that statement. You see, people need a certain amount of stress in order to live a happy, healthy and balanced life. They call it an “anxiety sweet spot.” It‘s the point when the stress you are enduring produces adrenaline that actually enhances you, allowing you to focus and think more clearly.
|
Of course this idea varies by individual. Everyone handles stress differently, and there are always circumstances which cause the kind of stress that does damage. Basically, the idea (no matter the situation) is to find your anxiety sweet spot and use it to your advantage.
How you react to the situation is what will determine whether it will be healthy or unhealthy stress. When you find the sweet spot, rather than using that enhanced focus to dwell on the problem and panic, turn it around and use it to calm yourself. Breathe deeply and slowly to lower your heart rate.
Of course there are a billion different things that stress us all out from day to day, but ultimately, we have the power and the skills to control how every situation is going to affect us mentally. I know I will be working on finding my anxiety sweet spot!
Cheers to healthy stress!

News You Can Use: News From Inside Your Dental Plan
Choosing The Right Dentist Is More Important Than You May Think
Make sure that the Dental Center you are going to is a Savon Certified Preferred Provider!
Over the past few years, we have encountered some issues with non-participating Dental Centers misrepresenting their status with the Savon plan. We have found that some of our members have visited these centers because someone at that providers office advised them that they accepted Savon Dental Plan. This is an ongoing problem and, unfortunately, Savon cannot prevent it from happening. A Dental office may tell you anything to get your business and to keep you as a patient! This is understandable, considering the current state of the economy, however unethical it may be. This is why it is so important for you, as a member, to do your homework before choosing a provider.
To avoid a hassle at the dentist's office and to ensure that you are getting the benefits that you pay for please remember these tips:
- As a member of Savon, you must see a Savon provider to receive your discount benefit from the plan.
- Please do not randomly call a provider from the phone book and ask them if they accept the plan. They will almost always tell you yes, or they'll tell you that they accept all plans!
- Make sure the Dental Center you are visiting is a Savon Certified Preferred Provider. They should have a window sign visible somewhere. If you don‘t see the Certified Provider sign, call Savon BEFORE starting any treatment.
- If you doubt a Dental Center is a plan provider, check with Savon first.
- We cannot guarantee fees if you are overcharged by a non-plan provider.
- We cannot negotiate on your behalf if a problem arises with pricing or quality of care after you have visited a non-plan provider.
- Savon cannot reimburse you for overcharges that may result from using a non-plan provider.
We've all had the displeasure of being referred to a doctor or dentist that isn't approved or contracted by our insurance company. The same is true when you've made a choice based on misinformation given by a dental office. There is nothing more aggravating than to be treated by a doctor you thought accepted your insurance or plan, only to find out after the fact (or when you get the bill) that he/she isn't!
Our complete list of dental providers is available on our website. If you do not have access to the internet and would like to know the status of a provider, please feel free to call our customer service number (602)841-3494 or toll free 800-809-3494.
By following these simple guidelines we will all be able to Keep smiling!
