Bleached Your Teeth But Don't See A Difference?

Honestly, there can be a number of reasons why you are not noticing your bleaching results.  One of the most common reasons I‘ve encountered was what I called the “Cheshire Grin” effect.  When someone is expecting to see continuous results from a procedure such as bleaching, they tend to stand in the mirror nightly after their bleaching routine and grin at themselves in the mirror to see if they can see the results.  The problem with this is that on a day to day basis, the result is so gradual that you may not notice it.

Another reason you may not notice your results is that you really haven‘t got any…yet.  Some of the teeth whitening products that are offered over-the-counter do not have the clinical strength that the ones you purchase from your dentist do.  So these products may not work as well, or may take longer to achieve your desired results.

Keep in mind that bleaching your teeth is similar to tanning.  That‘s right…like tanning, not every one gets that desired golden brown tan.  Some of us burn, some freckle…some get really dark.  Teeth react the same way.  Not every one will be able to achieve a bright white smile easily.  Some will get phenomenal results, some will only get a bit whiter and some will see barely any results at all.

It‘s important to discuss bleaching with your dentist prior to starting any kind of bleaching treatment.  Ask your dentist to record your starting pre-bleached shade.  That way you can check in throughout your bleaching treatment and they can visually show you your results.  Make sure to ask your dentist what kind of bleaching candidate you are and if he recommends an in-office, at home or over the counter treatment for you.  Once that is determined, make sure you follow through with your treatment for the recommended time period and follow all instructions closely.  This will help ensure that you get the best results possible.

Feng Shui with Shona Frasier:

Feng Shui and Plants

With Feng Shui most people think its only about furniture placement or de-cluttering. Well, that is some of the basics but the plants in your house can play a very big part as well. Plants are good in almost every area of the house. They can be used to lift the energy in an area, great for healing, as well as looking great in the house.

First off, I would like to say cactuses are definitely not good plants to have in the house. Each point on a cactus is pushing energy in a direction in a sharp manner. So, if you have a cactus with many points or prickles it could be throwing out sharp energy, many Feng Shui practitioners like to call shar. This is where the energy gets thrown in a sharp line. We want our energy to be free flowing. If you are going to have to have a cactus, keep it outside and preferably in the middle of the backyard.

Plants tend to lift energy or gets energy flowing. Plants are great to put in the corners whether they are floor plants or hanging. Energy can grow stagnant in corners of houses or in dark areas and putting plants in these areas are always a great way to live the energy and get it moving.

A perfect place to put a small plant (I prefer fake in this area unless you have a window) is in the bathroom on the back of the toilet. This will keep your energy lifted and from flushing down the toilet.

Many Asian cultures believe in the Chinese Money Tree. Most of the leaves have 5 leaves on them and they trunks are braided. These are great to put in the front windows of your house. They are great for money and some cultures believe they help generate luck as well. Bamboo is another great plant and very easy to take care of. They need little light and can be in a vase without soil. These are great to have around the house anywhere you see fit to put them. Bamboo has been known to also help when it comes to health. If you put them next to your bed (the only time you really want a plant close to where you are sleeping), Asian cultures believe that it will take the negative energy that is making you sick and it will absorb it. In Feng Shui, it is believed that depending upon where a dying plant is in your house it dying because it is absorbing all the negative energy out of that area. Once they are completely dead, it is recommended to throw the plant in the trash immediately. It is very bad Feng Shui to keep a dead plant in the house.

If anyone were to come to my house, they would probably think I have a nursery in areas of my house. I just find plants add so much life to a house while keeping the energy moving. Do not get me wrong, you do not want to clutter your house with plants, but its nice to have a few in almost every room of the house. It creates life and wonderful energy movement.

Remember are not in this alone and can contact me with questions or concerns on Feng Shui at any time.  Shona Frasier (602)793-3986 or via email at shona.fengshui@yahoo.com.

FDA Declares Mercury In Dental Fillings Not Harmful

July 28, 2009 the FDA declared that silver dental fillings contain such minimal amounts of mercury that they are not harmful.  They state that the levels of mercury detected in bodies of individuals who have amalgam fillings too low to cause and adverse health effects.

They further state that only people with sensitivity to mercury or an allergy should refrain from having them placed.

As for the millions of adults and children who currently have amalgam fillings, no need to rush out and have them replaced.  The FDA states, “If your fillings are in good condition and there is no decay beneath the filling, FDA does not recommend that you have your amalgam fillings removed or replaced. Removing sound amalgam fillings results in unnecessary loss of healthy tooth structure, and exposes you to additional mercury vapor released during the removal process.”

The above health material is provided as an information service.  It should not be used for diagnostic purposes nor is it intended to take the place of the important relationship between you and your doctor.

A question from a member:

Question:

What are the age limitations for the child dependants on my plan?

Savon's Answer:

Any child aged 19 and younger, residing in the home is eligible for coverage under your plan.  Children over the age of 19 regardless if they are living in the home or not will need to obtain coverage under their own plan unless they are under 24 and are full time students. Proof of school identification and a full time schedule are required prior to obtaining eligibility.

Should you have questions regarding whether or not your child is eligible, feel free to contact one of Savon's Customer Service Representatives at (800) 809-3494.
